Welcome to the community of Ingonish on the Cabot Trail.

Ingonish Locator MapThe Ingonish area, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia is a destination for all seasons. Be inspired by the breathtaking coastal and mountain scenery whether bathed in sunshine or covered in snow. In the summer, spend days along the sandy shores of Ingonish Beach that offers both saltwater and freshwater swimming. Challenge yourself in the oceans waves in a kayak or unwind under a canopy of trees.

The area is known as a golfers paradise, as golfers from around the world flock to the famed Highlands Links, which is considered by many to be Canadas finest course. Highlands Links was recently rated #1 in Canada and #51 in the world by  the Top 100 Golf Course in the world, an independent website and team.

Others are lured by the abundant hiking trails that range from walks along coastal headlands to highland ascents in the Cape Breton Highlands National Park. Hikers from North America gather for the Hike the Highlands Festival in mid- September.

In October, visitors can enjoy the Taste of Ingonish Showcase from Oct. 1-19 at restaurants throughout Ingonish. Enjoy the many specials at our restaurants and enter to win an Experience Ingonish adventure package. Ingonish will be hosting its 1st Huckle and Buckle Festival from October 16-19.

When the snow falls, Ingonish is transformed to a winter wonderland where enthusiasts can enjoy downhill skiing at Ski Cape Smokey or cross-country skiing through the Cape Breton Highlands National Park of Canada.
